In a heated MBMC general body meeting in Mira Road, the BJP used its majority to rename Tipu Sultan Junction as Kranti-veer Ashfaqulla Khan Chowk, winning 77 votes. Congress opposed the move and proposed Abdul Ghaffar Khan’s name, while Shiv Sena’s walkout triggered allegations of indirectly backing the BJP amid “U-turn” claims.
