The action thriller "Blast," starring Arjun Sarja, Preity Mukundhan, and Abhirami, has proven to be a significant success, already deemed a hit with a reported budget of Rs 18 crore and a worldwide gross of Rs 26.47 crore in its first five days, making it a profitable venture in the small-to-mid-budget category. Despite a 40% drop in domestic net on its first Monday to Rs 3.60 crore, this decline is considered healthy compared to larger plunges seen in other recent Tamil films. Directed by debutant Subash K. Raj and produced by AGS Entertainment, "Blast" opened modestly in India but experienced an impressive surge, reaching its peak on the first Sunday and passing its theatrical break-even mark by Day 4, a stark contrast to high-profile, big-budget flops from late 2025 and early 2026 that suffered massive losses. The film has entered the list of highest-grossing Tamil films of 2026 and is performing exceptionally well in Kerala, earning over Rs 2.50 crore gross in its first four days.
