Tamil cinema is experiencing a resurgence with the surprise success of the action thriller "Blast," starring Arjun Sarja, which has outperformed expectations and achieved phenomenal business over its four-day opening weekend. Despite a modest start on Thursday with Rs 1.25 crore net, driven by strong word-of-mouth, the film saw remarkable growth, surging by over 56% on Friday to Rs 2.15 crore, an impressive 111.6% on Saturday to Rs 4.55 crore, and a further 31.9% on Sunday to Rs 6 crore, culminating in a domestic gross of Rs 16.03 crore and a worldwide gross of Rs 21.58 crore, positioning it to surpass the collections of recent films like Dhanush's "Kara."
