The Indian Coast Guard has bolstered its maritime security with the commissioning of ICGS Akshay, a new-generation fast patrol vessel built by Goa Shipyard Limited. This indigenous ship, named "Akshay" meaning "indestructible," will enhance coastal surveillance, search and rescue, and environmental protection efforts. Its induction signifies India's growing shipbuilding prowess under the 'Atmanirbhar Bharat' initiative, aiming to safeguard the nation's extensive coastline.
