Dharav High School, Gurugram, has been honoured at The Wellbeing Standard, an initiative organised by SWISS Essentials and My Safe Spaces, for its commitment to student wellbeing and fostering safe, inclusive learning environments. The event brought together education leaders from across the country to exchange insights and best practices on creating emotionally safe and supportive school communities. It also recognised distinguished educators and leaders for their contributions to education and student wellbeing. School Chaiperson Devyani Jaipuria was honoured for her unwavering commitment to educational excellence and her continued efforts to create student-centred learning environments. Dr Aditi Misra, School Director, received an award in recognition of her exceptional leadership, advocacy and dedication to advancing student wellbeing, mental health awareness and holistic development within educational institutions. The recognition reflects the school’s efforts to embed wellbeing within its educational framework and cultivate a culture that supports the holistic development of students. The school’s educators participated in the Gatekeeping Training Certification Programme, which focused on identifying and supporting students experiencing emotional distress. Teachers also attended the First Quarterly Workshop on Burnout Prevention, which introduced practical wellbeing strategies and explored the concept of Ikigai—a Japanese philosophy centred on finding purpose and meaning in life. The workshop encouraged educators to reflect on their strengths, values and professional aspirations. Misra said: “At Dharav High School, we believe that wellbeing is fundamental to meaningful learning. Creating safe, supportive and emotionally aware environments enables both students and educators to thrive. Through regular wellbeing initiatives, we aim to strengthen resilience, encourage open conversations around mental health and ensure that wellbeing remains an integral part of the educational experience. Principal Ritu Jawa said: “Creating a positive and inclusive learning environment is essential to helping students develop confidence, empathy and a strong sense of belonging. We are committed to ensuring that every student feels heard, supported and empowered to explore their potential. By integrating wellbeing into everyday school life, we aim to encourage not only academic achievement but also personal growth and the overall development of our learners.”
