From gyms to running grounds, and from sports sessions to cycling tracks, one thing common to all these platforms is the consumption of packaged energy drinks. But, one thing that nobody pays any heed to is: Are these drinks really effective? Are they preservative-free? and what are the side effects of such packaged can drinks? Taking the matter into consideration, the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) on Wednesday issued notices to six energy drink brands over misbranding and misleading claims related to products marketed as "energy drinks".
