Jammu & Kashmir: Srinagar plans modern integrated waste management plant to process 11.5 LMT of legacy waste

Srinagar aims to eliminate 11.5 lakh metric tonnes of legacy waste within two years. A modern integrated waste management plant will be established at the Achan dumping site. A ₹61 crore biomining and bioremediation project has commenced for processing existing waste. The government has approved a ₹361 crore integrated solid waste management project. These initiatives will address long-standing environmental and health issues in the city.
