Colaba corporator Makarand Narwekar has urged the BMC to introduce a congestion tax on single-occupant private vehicles in busy zones. Proposed in the upcoming budget, the pilot in south Mumbai could charge Rs 50–100 per entry to cut traffic, pollution and boost public transport.
