US services activity expands most since 2022 on demand

The US services sector expanded at its fastest pace since mid-2022 in February, with the ISM services index rising 2.3 points to 56.1, beating all projections. Stronger new orders, business activity and export demand drove growth, while services employment saw its firmest gain in a year. Fourteen service industries expanded, and input price pressures eased even as manufacturing input costs surged.
