The West Bengal government has notified the VB-G RAM G rural employment scheme, replacing MGNREGA from July 1 and guaranteeing 125 days of work. Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari welcomed the move. The scheme will focus on water security, rural infrastructure, livelihood projects and climate resilience, with Centre-State funding in a 60:40 ratio and wages disbursed through the DBT-SPARSH system.
